Community Service Announcement
Truth be told, we have been planning for this day since March, the day we would get a call when Covid-19 was positively identified within our family network. We knew this was not an “if” but “when” situation coming so we planned and trained hard for it. We created systems that would allow us to work together healthily and safely, we put audits in place so we all knew how tightly we held ourselves to those standards so that we could confidently serve our community, we monitored and carefully managed every instance of possible exposures... and so when we got the call this morning truthfully our hearts sank a little bit at the realities that we have been watching from a distance though knew were inevitable. We are reassured and hopeful at the thought that maybe our systems are strong enough to fully contain the virus and limit exposure in-house.
We want to always be transparent with our community on matters that affect us all which is why we choose to share this. Currently, we are in close communications with the Alamance County Health Department and determined that there was no exposure or risk to our customers, and for the staff who were in close contact we are following all Health Department recommendations.
For our own sanity, while figuring next steps, we decided to close tonight to ensure that all the correct measures are in place for a plan forward. Please be on the lookout for updates here and on our website.
We are reminded by how real and widespread this virus is in the community and that this is just another reminder for everyone in Saxapahaw and beyond to keep their guards up.
