How we came to be…
The Eddy was created with the intention of providing a comfortable space for community interaction in a central place in the village of Saxapahaw, much like many of the village pubs in England. We desired a place where everyone felt welcome, where connection with our neighbors and our food was encouraged, and where Saxapahaw could essentially invite everyone into its “living room”. And so The Eddy came to be!
We set out to design a space and an experience which values meaningful and thoughtful interchanges with others- staff, customers, farmers, suppliers, and our neighbors…and since the birth of this purpose in 2008, seeing it come to life in 2010 we are happy to share the product of this attempt with you via The Eddy Pub.
In keeping with this ideal of cultural sustainability, our food purpose closely ties us to the healthy growth of fruits and vegetables and animals. We place a high value on local farmers and their resources as we strive to care for their products as much as they have, in turn giving you the highest quality food possible.
